Strengthening business law to unlock SME financing in the Central African Republic

On September 29, 2026, Bangui will host a full-day training on "OHADA Unified Business Law and its Application in Central Africa", organized by the Club OHADA Central African Republic at Espace LORY.

🏛️ This event is held under the high patronage of the Minister of State in charge of Justice of the Central African Republic.

🌍 It is carried out with the anticipated support of @World Bank through the I-COMPETE Project (Investment and Business Competitiveness for Employment Project). It is organized in partnership with the @OHADA Permanent Secretariat and with technical support from UNIDA/www.ohada.com

Why it matters:

Harmonized business law is a direct lever for SME access to finance:
🔹 Clear rules on securities and debt recovery strengthen the guarantees SMEs can offer banks.
🔹 A sound application of the revised SYSCOHADA makes financial information more reliable.
🔹 Efficient dispute resolution builds investor confidence.

📚 Four modules on the agenda

1️⃣ OHADA harmonized business law and its scope in Central African law
2️⃣ OHADA accounting: the revised SYSCOHADA framework
3️⃣ Alternative Dispute Resolution: CCJA arbitration and mediation
4️⃣ Challenges in implementing OHADA law in the CAR

👥 Who should attend: judges, lawyers, chartered accountants, business leaders, public administration officers and students. Certificates will be awarded.
